Featuring no less then 4 Combichrist songs in the movie, Ronan Harris (VNV Nation) on the soundtrack, this movie was probably the highlight for industrial fans everywhere. I’ve asked a lot of people for opinions and nobody seems to have seen this film!
The Gene Generation is based around the crimes of DNA hacking and features Michelle an assassin out to take out many of these criminals, her brother Jackie gets involved after stepping on a few toes and they’ll need to find a way to escape the rotten world that they are trapped in or lose their lives in the process.
This movie was is the most cyber/industrial movie you will ever see, with Michelle pretty much PVC clad up and kicking bad guys to the tune of “This Shit Will Fuck You Up”, a sidekick that wears goggles all the time for no reasons other then looking cyber/industrial oh and Combichrist makes a brief appearance as well!
If you don’t like industrial culture, avoid it, it’s not that great but it’s a lot of fun if you’re into this stuff.
A sequel has been announced to come out later this year too!

Milleh has officially joined aboard on Hairlucination as the artistic and fashion director. Hairlucination is making massive expansions and she’ll be helping out by selling at stalls, directing and creating ideas for photo shoots and will be looking at ways to help expand the business by finding or creating exciting new products. She has joined aboard with her experience on her dread making site Technibabble and is currently started her new label.

Julia is the all star helper for Hairlucination, as we have mentioned, her work that she has contributed has been remarkable and she is helping us with our next promotion and I personally can not wait to see the results of this by the end of the month.
The reason we’re having these staff on board? Massive plans which will be announced soon, both these two specialise and excel in their various fields and have the ability to help get Hairlucination onto bigger and better things soon. ^^
We’ve had a lot of people help out with Hairlucination over the past year being customers, models, photographers, suppliers and I’m extremely thankful for everyone’s efforts towards getting us to where we are today. There is one girl in particular who has played a big part and has helped out as a customer, referrer, model, photographer and a supplier!

Julia (left) has been a huge help in supplying hats for us at Supanova and has helped by putting in tremendous efforts of her talent in modelling and photography for Hairlucination. She is someone we’ve had an awesome relationship with and has always raised her hand to be one of the first people to ever help out and do amazing work for us, we’d like to think of her as an amazing member of our team at Hairlucination and we hope that her tremendous success gets her to even further and bigger and better things. :)

Supanova was awesome, it was our first stall and we had tremendous success with over 12,000+ people visiting,we certainly were kept busy throughout the weekend.
Our stall stocked our signature range of hair falls and brand new products such as goggles and gas masks which we sold out of very quickly and will have more new ones soon and also sold some lolita hats from Wednesday’s Hats, some cute jewellery from Curious Cupcakes and we had a large supply of anime hats, with the most expensive range of the hats sold out before open to the public!

We had fun and highlights included:
- The maids who would come entertained us throughout the day.
- Our awesome volunteers, one of which may have gotten on Hey, Hey It’s Saturday!
- Miss Pixies, our awesome neighbours, who we had lots of fun with, including swapping love letters!
- The Mudkips jacket that would stop everyone in their tracks and took a while to sell
- Other vendors requesting we set up a stall at other shows later on in the year and next year
- A mother who tried on our hair falls just to scare her children
Overall it was a great success and we’re likely to do it again next year, although in between we plan to do more stalls and of course carry out our business online. ^^

I have seen many people talking about keeping raving underground in Perth, if you raved 5 years ago, you would know that is a load of bullshit. This picture is the location of one of Perth’s most (in)famous underground raves illegally held in North Perth. You may look at the picture and see an empty space of land here.
This is because after the rave was shut down, the promoter dramatically arrested by cops on the main stage, the ravers evacuated, the building was demolished within a few weeks.
This was a real underground event, with no mention on Facebook or Myspace and only SMS’s sent out to ravers who were in the know. This required people to go through an alleyway and crawl through a fence into a completely dark building only brightened by the centre stage, the toilets were not working, staircase rails rusted and the building in a highly derelict state. This was far from the quality venues many FORCE ravers are used too today but this was far from the point, considering the owners risked (and did) get arrested for daring to through an illegal event almost in the heart of the city.
Raves these days are a little bit less underground…

This was found a few years ago within 5 minutes of the CBD on a main road. ^^

It seems that dubstep is the next big thing in the electronic music genre these days. It’s slow, deep, slithering, wobbling basslines have proved to be the latest craze loved by many. For some, this love is well founded, for others, we have seen the rise of the dubstep-tard who’s retarded love knows no bounds.
We all have our likes and we all have our right to say what we like and why but then there is being a retard about it. Constant Facebook updates on ‘ZOMG, this is the BeST DubSTeP tRaK evaaAa!!11!!!’, to only be followed up by ‘ZoMG this miX is sO fULLY SiK!!11!’ and the continuous posting of multiple dubstep videos which goes along of the lines of, ‘you all need to totally check this out now!’, despite the fact barely anyone checks anyones music videos, are signs you might be a dubstep -tard.

I’ve seen people talk about dubstep at parties and when someone doesn’t know what dubstep is, feel free to explain it to them. Do not be a fucking retard about it though, this is not an excuse to crap on about how it’s ‘the best genre ever’, hijack the stereo system and blast dubstep loudly. This is then proceded by a ‘Brooklyn Bounce’ impersonation, where they feel the need to commentate on the music. You do not need to be a sound engineer to understand dubstep, do not go on about how this bit wobbles and how that bit also wobbles and before the person gets a chance to say anything back ‘SSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!! Check out this wobble!’
I’m completely open towards other people’s music tastes and genres but music is a way we express ourselves with our own individuality and our own tastes. However the new rise of the dubstep-tard, has seen fans trying to shove it down our throats like a hentai chick gagging for it. It happens in genres to an extent, but in all my time (6-7 years) in the local rave scene, I haven’t seen anything this bad since Pendulum released Hold You Colour.
You can like your dubstep, just don’t be a fucking retard about it.
You can learn more about dubstep here.

On the weekend of the 26th and 27th of June, the Supanova Pop Culture Expo hits Perth. 10,000 are expected to pack through the doors of this huge sci-fi, anime, comic book and gaming event. This is a convention of epic proportions with plenty for everyone to do, there’s a huge number of stalls to browse, celebrities to meet and greet, lots of special events and of course what makes Supanova, the fans and if you’ve never been to a convention, they take dressing up to one hell of an extreme!
For those not really into the whole geek thing there is a wonderful time to be had by all, the fans are extremely friendly and the costumes need to be seen to be believed in real life, we’re talking a bit more effort then just going down to the local fancy dress hire store, lots of blood sweat and tears go into some of these outfits over months and hundreds and on the odd occasion even thousands of dollars get spent on these outfits!
This is a day or a weekend that you have to experience and check out, it is a religious mecca for all fans of all thinks geek and for the rest of us it’s the one weekend where we all get to escape our monotonous lives and check out a bright, explosive land of mayhem and excitement that you won’t forget.

Bit of an old story but this goes to show the story once again about the importance of reading contracts, while I’m sure some of you may have been a bit surprised at my earlier posts about alt models not rolling around in massive amounts of money. The solution might be to sell out and simply make pop music? If you can’t be bothered to read the article, an ex-Australian Idol winner ends up selling his car due to not receiving any money from his record sales.
Ever wonder why so called idols fade away so quickly (and Popstars to that extent), this is why. If they do turn their back, they can just as quickly do another series and find a new one.
Moral of the story, always, always, always read contracts carefully.
